THE COUNTRY: NORWAY – A PIONEER OF HYDROPOWER
Norway is the fifth largest hydropower producer in the world. The country is able to satisfy the demand for energy almost entirely by its own hydroelectric production. Norsk H2 produces hydrogen sustainably from the hydropower generated in the village Suldal in Norway. The hydrogen is produced for the regional, national and international market.
TARGET: 1,500T HYDROGEN PER MONTH
During the first phase, from 2020, production will gradually increase to over 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per month. By 2020, Norsk H2 plans to increase the capacity to 1,500 tonnes per month. Norsk H2 has already developed a customer base that will guarantee a relevant capacity utilization for the product. To further supplement this developed customer based, there are a growing number of additional interested parties who have approached the company regarding access to the Norsk H2 product, green hydrogen.

WATER POWER FOR GREEN HYDROGEN
Suldal is a part of the the Ryfylke region in South Norway. This region is one of the most important energy centers for the Norwegian economy. The expansion of hydroelectric power stations in this region has been pushed since the 1960s and, today, Suldal is one of Norway‘s largest energy producers. The amount of total production in Norway is 8%. The support of the local community in Suldal was an important factor in the realization of the green hydrogen concept of Norsk H2. The Suldal hydroelectric power station supplies sustainable green electricity, which is produced according to the strict Norwegian environmental regulations.
